I am so exhausted! I have been up since 4 am with a silly earache sort of thing. My ear doesn't really hurt...but its just..blah. It feels like my ear is under water. Gross, I know. I've seriously been on the couch all.day. I've watched too many hours of Teen Mom & The Hills today. I'm going crazy!
But, I just wanted to stop by and say hello, and tell you how grateful I am for all of you! I was just thinking about how my blog has progressed over the past 2.5 years (I used to blog over at WordPress. Scary lack of blogging skills. For real), and I would've never imagined that more than 3 people would be reading this. I seriously love you all. :)

This next week is a big one for me! On Monday, I start training for work & on Tuesday I begin moving everything into the new apartment! I'm so so excited for all of these changes. They are definitely good ones.
Random: My hometown is known for having the longest running 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi River. My family has this huge tradition of going to the parade (and sitting on the same corner, every year..ha!), and then grilling and swimming at my house with the whole family. Its going to be so strange leaving when it's all over, and going to my new home. Ah! So strange.

This was just a quick hello, and now I'm just rambling.
I'll be back soon, hopefully tomorrow, with a long overdue outfit post.
Love you all!

Awkward & Awesome

t-shirt - boyfriend's//jeans - a.e.// cardigan - forever 21//
backpack - target//sunglasses - red velvet
Awkward.
- boyfriend is gone. i found myself wearing his shirt & listening to HEALTH on vinyl this morning. who am i?!
- that's all i can think of.

Awesome.
- my friend chris is currently drawing a cartoon of me:
- boyfriend bought Tyler, the Creator's new album, Goblin, a week before it's released in the US... um.. stoked.
- breigh is home (that's the awesome part). buuuut, she's back at the hospital, getting an IV infusion today, because she hasn't been feeling the greatest since she came home (not good. sad face). please keep her in your thoughts & prayers, please ♥
- that's all i can think of.

i'm at school, i have to go take a test like, right now, and i just lost track of time until right this very second, so it looks like i'll be late for class.. oops.
so i should probably go...
here's a random photo booth photo from yesterday, just because. :)

I just couldn't stay away... :)

I love blogging too much.
A few weeks ago, I didn't blog for an entire week. I'm really not sure how I did it, because the past like, 34 hours have killed me!
So, things will most definitely be back to normal within the next few days. I'll get back to my regular features and all that. :)

Mr. Blake has been absolutely wonderful about everything that's going on. He brought me Starbucks and chinese for lunch at school on Tuesday, and then took me to Olive Garden (best.ever.) for dinner. I like him times infinity.
& My boss, who is just about the cutest ever, went on vacation last week and brought me back the sweetest little owl she thrifted while she was gone. Oh, and some Celestial Sleepytime tea that I can never find at the grocery store. I have the best job ever.

Last week, my mom bought the family gym memberships. Now. If only you knew my entire family... This is a completely ridiculous idea. Even for me, it's outrageously ridiculous. I don't exercise. Ever. But, tonight, my momma and I went to the gym. And we worked out for a solid hour. And for this, I was very proud of myself. My legs are jello. And I will definitely feel it tomorrow. But nothing was better than coming home, feeling completely refreshed. Hopefully this is the start of a very good habit. :)

I have to work on a paper for Children's Lit tonight - she's been piling homework on us a lot lately. But this paper is only like, one to two pages, and it's about a children's book illustrator of our choice, so I chose Marc Brown who wrote/illustrated the Arthur books. I loved those books when I was little! And the tv show was even better. In fact, I think I'll watch it on Netflix while I write.. :)

Goodnight!

Taking a break.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Miss James & Miss Danielle both did this, and I think it will do me some good.
After some recent comments left here, I really, really feel like I need a mini break from blogging, and the internet, in general.
When every little thing you say, or do, is attacked for no reason at all, it is emotionally exhausting. So, I'm taking a break, and I'll be back in a few days with, most likely, a lot to say. :)

Procrastination is my new best friend.

Monday, April 11, 2011

I think I have a problem.

I've been avoiding my Children's Lit paper very well this afternoon.
I even cleaned out my car. Blake will tell you that this is a huge deal. I never ever clean my car.
I've eaten a whole day's worth of calories within like 3 hours, and I've watched America's Next Top Model & That 70's Show pretty much all day (I meant to watch The Kennedy's... but I forgot what time it came on. Oopsies). Oh, I also reopened my Tumblr AND spent two hours pinning things on Pinterest.

Later this evening, I plan on painting my nails and watching movies.
And maybe working on my paper.
I have 3 more pages to go... I can totally do this.. Maybe.

It's Grandma Night though.
UGH. The world is against me and my education!
:)
Random photo. Just because.
Have a good night!

*I have 160 followers now! I know this is a random number to be excited about, but it seemed like I was at 157 for forever! I love each and every one of you :)

Awkward & Awesome

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Awkward:
- sometimes, photos like this happen.
- waking up at 2 am to a little girl that wet the bed. never sleeping with her again..
- having to explain to people that i do, in fact, have pants on.
- blogging during math. my teacher is too ancient to realize i'm not paying attention. but, we're about to take a quiz, and i have no idea what she's talking about #winning?

Awesome:
- my english class got out 15 minutes early, so i had time to stop by starbucks & get a black tea lemonade.
- boyfriend left me THE sweetest note on my car during class. i loveee him. ♥
- dad and i are going to tulsa tomorrow afternoon to see Band of Horses & Kings of Leon (not so much the latter, but we're gonna try to stick it out for them), and we get to go backstage to meet Band of Horses. daddy is best friends with the drummer's in-laws. YAY CONNECTIONS. :)
- i am happy.

I keep getting asked if I am still wearing my hospital bracelet from 2 weeks ago. Answer: No. I am not. Haha. I am wearing my wristband from Passion last weekend. It was originally orange (on the other side), and after it was over, we were encouraged to turn it inside out, to remind us to pray for Passion 2012, which is in January, in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome (hence, the reason it says: "Passion 2012//Georgia Dome") Pretty awesome idea, if you ask me.

One last thing before I get back to math class..
Is this little boy not the sweetest??
I want a baby to dress up like this!!

Okay. That is all. :)

I'm a little obsessed...

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

I think I have my entire wedding planned. Would it be silly to start making stuff for it now, even though my wedding will be like, 3 to 4 years away..? :)
I came across this photo today: and I am officially obsessed with the colors.
I am fairly positive that these are my official wedding colors.
They're just so perfect...
sigh. I'm not going to get married for a long time..
A girl can dream, right?

Nothing exciting, I promise.

Monday, March 28, 2011

All I have to show for these past few days are a few photo booth photos...
sweet hospital bracelets... that I *finally* took off today.
Lots of ice cream sandwiches to help my sore throat...
My very own bacon recipe book! Thank you, boyfriend :)
(he also added Beach House's Teen Dream to my record collection. Best boy everrr)
I also started reading the first Harry Potter!

Currently, Cassie and I are watching season two of Nip/Tuck, and I am experiencing absolutely awful "hot flashes." My stomach starts hurting if I sit up too long, but I get so tired of laying around all day. No bueno! I'm actually excited to go back to school tomorrow. Weird? For me, yes. I worked on my class schedule for next semester (just in case I don't make the move to Texas), and I'm actually really excited. My school offers a Typography class, so I convinced my bestie Breigh to take it with me. So stoked!
I am now going to continue laying down and finish Nip/Tuck and try not to complain about my tummy hurting.

5 questions to make you think.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

I saw this on Miss Carly's blog, who saw it here first. And I thought I would do it. :)

1. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Probably somewhere in New York. Not in New York City, but somewhere where I could get to the city easily. I wouldn't want to work there, or live there, but I'd like to be able to go there anytime, any day, whenever I wanted.

2. Are you happy with where you live?
I'm not really sure. There are pros and cons. I live with my parents in a really small town, that I've lived in my entire life. Its good because I don't have to pay rent, or for food, or any bills whatsoever (I don't even pay for my gas. Haha). But at the same time, I am not independent at all, and it's extremely frustrating. I'm nearly 20, in college, and am still dependent on my parents. So in that sense, no, I am not happy. But I'm working on liking it a bit more.

3. How often do you go on vacation?
I go on one big vacation, to the beach or somewhere like that, at least once or twice a year. But I go on mini-vacations to St. Louis all the time. My aunt lives there so I try to visit whenever I can. It's extremely refreshing to just get away for the weekend.

4. If you could change your profession & start all over, what would you do?
Well. I don't exactly have a career yet. But, at this point in my life, I would've done things differently in high school. I would've been more involved, and worked harder in my classes. I didn't take high school seriously at all, and I really regret that. I also would've chosen a different college. But it's not too late to change that.

5. Are you honestly happy right now?
Yes. I am. This is the happiest I've been in my entire life. Even if I do live at home. I get to see my momma every day, and that is a-okay in my book.

owl sweater-forever 21//shorts-forever 21//sweater-target//tights-target//boots-?

Today has been a wonderful day, despite the gloomy rain. Usually I love rain. But usually I don't have to drive in it. So...that was a bit of a bummer. I'm not a very good driver in yucky weather.
I went to Blake's for dinner and we came up with amazing plans for Saturday to see the new Director's Cut of Never Say Never. (BIEBER FEVER!) Really. I can't wait.

Dad informed me that it has been officially confirmed that we will be backstage for the Band of Horses/Kings of Leon concert in April. On the inside (...and outside) I am freaking out. My dad's friends are now the in-laws of the drummer, so... instant connection. It is beyond awesome. How did I ever get so lucky? Dad told me how the process will work. Nancy (the mother in law of the drummer) said that they way it usually goes is that she points out to him who gets to come backstage, and he comes out and personally gets us. .....in a little over a month, I will be meeting the members of my favorite band. I think I might cry. I want to just thinking about it! (silly me..)

I am finally home and watching "The Bad Seed" which was made in 1956, so its one of those classic, black & white horror films. Perfect.

Good night :)

p.s. some changes are coming to my little old blog soon. I'm way excited! I spent the good majority of my math class dreaming up ideas. I'll share soon, I promise:)

30days.

Sunday, February 13, 2011

my blogging habits are very poor these days.
now that i don't have to blog for english, i don't really have a reason to post something every single day.
i have a desire to, but i'm just out of ideas.. i thought about doing another 30 day challenge.. Colby is doing one right now, and I've done one in the past.. but I thought it would be something fun to do, what with the incoming of new followers here and there.
so i think that is what i shall do. i tried to find one different from the one i did before, but all of them out there are basically the same. so, if you feel like you've heard all of this before: a) i am sorry, b) please don't stop following me. haha :)

so, here goes. day one.
a recent photo/intro/15 facts
1. my name is elizabeth haley, but i go by haley. half the people in my family go by their middle names. its a trend. ha:)
2. i absolutely hate touching people if i've just gotten out of the shower, or the pool, or anything like that. yuck.
3. i have a permanent retainer on the back of my two front teeth.
4. my favorite movie in 6th grade was Gone with the Wind. i watched it every night for a year.
5. my boyfriend and i are addicted to To Catch a Predator.
6. i can't stand sweet tea, but i still drink it upon occasion.
7. i recently gave up on vegetarianism, which only lasted a 1.5 months. the day after "quitting," i ate a big mac. siiiick.
8. i am the oldest of the 4 kids in my family. i am also the only girl. 3 younger brothers = problems.
9. i can't brush my teeth with hot water. that's just gross.
10. speaking of hot water, for a month or two, i was terrified of taking baths/showers with hot water (i had taken a bath, and my water was way too hot, and i passed out). i'm not scared anymore though! :)
11. i'm about to turn 20 and i live at home. its a great feeling.
12. i work at a tea room, and i work for the sweetest woman alive.
13. i got really depressed the day that Starbucks told me they could no longer put gingerbread flavoring in my chai tea latte.
14. there have only been 2 movies that have really, really scared me in my entire life. "Shattered Lives" is about demonic clown dolls that convince a little girl to stab her mother to death. that was a life ruiner. and "Paranormal Activity 2" only scared me for one night, but that was the worst night of my life. About halfway through the movie, I started crying and shaking and couldn't stop. it was awful.
15. i know every single word to every single song on Kanye West's new album. every. word. i'm proud of this.

xo hay.
you should join the fun and do a 30 day challenge too:)

I have been wanting to blog about something all day.. But what? I don't know.
I have had this strange urge a l l day to blog... but I'm have a mad case of blogger's block.
As I sit here and contemplate about what exactly I want to write about, and that at this very moment, I am, in fact, rambling on about nothing... I lost my train of thought. You see? I have nothing to write about.

So here's what I'll do.
A shameless plug for my best friend's photography.
That'll have to do for now.

Colby is a very talented young man. Even in the early days of our friendship, we were captivated by the idea of capturing a moment (albeit, a very posed moment) on film. His love for photography has definitely developed over the past few years, and he continues to get better and better with each photo shoot. I am so, so proud of him.
There's just a bit of his work. I love him.
Check out his blog and his facebook for more :)

dear self, you are crazy random sometimes.

Sunday, December 5, 2010

I'm incredibly happy.

December, so far, has been lovely. The weather is less than desirable. I strongly dislike the cold.
The tea room I work at was the host of a Cats (the musical) themed birthday party... for a 4 year old. Needless to say, this was, by far, the coolest birthday party I've ever seen. I can't imagine being 4 and liking that musical - but whatever. Kudos to her parents. Or something.
I'm supposed to be baking a cheesecake right now, but I'm not in the mood.
I was also supposed to write a 6 page paper this afternoon. Did I do that? Nope.
I've laid in bed all day, thinking about what I should be doing. I did take the time to get ready and put on makeup - to go absolutely nowhere. Although, I'll probably go to McDonald's soon. I've been craving a happy meal (I think its because of those Sanrio watches. I need one).
I made my December playlist today, too. Maybe tomorrow I'll share that. Probably.
Speaking of tomorrow: I get American Beauty in the mail from Netflix. I'm pretty stoked about that.
Speaking of Netflix: There Will Be Blood was fantastic. I was super impressed with the music. Holy gosh, the score was just beautiful. I think I've found myself some new sleeping music.
Speaking of music: listen to How To Dress Well and your life will automatically be better. Mandy would agree with this statement. We're How To Dress Well buddies.
My dad came in my room and danced for like 2 seconds to the xx. It was the cutest thing. He also made bacon this morning. From a pig. That he killed. The thought is grossing me out, but it was so, so tasty.

I'm done now.
ttyl, folks.

-haley

100th post is not as epic as i thought it would be (+something special)

Monday, November 29, 2010

*the giveaway is closed. sorry you missed it, sucka* :)

I am feeling MUCH more positive now! I think I just needed to feel like I actually accomplished something today to feel decent. So, I cleaned my room (a little) and worked for 2 straight hours on papers for my political science class. I'm about to start on the outline for my final essay in my english class, which is called "What Is a Place" and is supposed to be about a significant place in my life. I can't really think of anywhere in my life that I could write about for 4-6 pages. No where. Except New York. I've only been there once, but I think I could write pages and pages worth of crap that only has meaning to me (such as the elevator in our hotel that we took a picture in every morning). Haha, maybe that's what I'll do.
Maybe I'll share the final draft of the essay here... if 4-6 pages worth of writing doesn't bore you. :)

Random facts about my day:
*I got out of bed at 11:30, and made breakfast, got back in bed, then got out at 2:30 to make lunch.
*I figured out how to successfully keep my hair up in a bun, even though its really too short to put up at all.
*Got a "latte" at McDonald's because the closest Starbucks is 20 minutes away, and I didn't want to drive that far just for my comfort drink.
*While in the drive-thru at McDonald's, I saw a car that had 2 cats just sitting in the back window of the car. I laughed for maybe 2 minutes over that.
*I watched Glee with my brother, who was "sick" today. He was in complete awe over the Glee version of the Katy Perry song "Teenage Dream" - trust me, this kid is definitely not a Glee fan, so this must mean something.
*wrote a review on the war for my political science class, using a Conservative magazine. Most boring and depressing thing ever.
*Wrote 2 reviews for movies for the same political science class (any class where you can review V for Vendetta for a grade is pretty awesome).
*Watched a grand total of 4 Jeopardy episodes with my grandparents. Every time Grandpa answered a question right he'd lean over to me, hold his hand out, and say, "hold your applause, please." Annoying.
*I'm getting bored with how boring my day has been.

Last night was the best night ever, but I'm going to be very vague about it, because I can.
Blake made me dinner (and it was yummy), and hot tea, and we watched Amelie. It was perfect.
It would've been a bit more perfect if the Home Alone 2 VHS would've worked, but alas, Christmas movie watching will have to be saved for another night. :)

I should probably work on this stupid essay now.

-haley

p.s. this is officially my 100th post. I feel like this should be way more epic than it really is.
Hmm. I guess I can do a giveaway. You know, since I want to fit in in the blog world, or whatever :)
Leave me a comment giving me a Christmas movie suggestion, and you can win one of these lovelies, much like the one I gave away on Danielle's blog:
If you win, I'll get in contact with you and personalize a sketchbook for you, and whatnot). GOOD LUCK ♥
