I Have Bridesmaids!

Friday, May 18, 2012

I've been browsing wedding blogs long enough to know that I needed a super good way to ask my bff's to be in my wedding. I actually had a completely different idea in mind when I walked into Hobby Lobby but walked out with supplies to make something entirely different. Here's what I came up with:
A bracelet was pretty much a no brainer as a gift for Breigh; we like to have little BFF type trinkets like this (I got us bracelets once that we both wore until they literally were falling apart). I decided to keep all of the bracelets the same for all the girls and make secret message bracelets! Good news: they loved them, and I am so happy with the way they turned out! I gave Breigh's hers first, and she was so surprised when she got it. I sent Claire's in the mail, along with her graduation card, so I'm pretty sure it came as a surprise to her, too. ;) And I gave Cassie her's last night! She'd seen Breigh wearing her bracelet and begged to know where she got it, but Breigh wouldn't tell her, so she was so happy when I gave her one of her own! I just thought this was a perfect, simple little keepsake to remember the whole planning process!
Colby is also a part of my wedding party, but I didn't think that a bracelet was quite fitting for him, so I just flat out asked him... he said yes and then asked what he could wear. Love him!

So there you have it! My side of the wedding party is official! I'm so excited and I can't wait to plan this little shindig with my best friends! I love you Breigh, Claire, Cassie and Colby! ♥

(and of course... we Instagrammed every time they got their little present!)
(Claire lives in Arkansas so I had to send hers in the mail! But she just told me today that she'll be visiting in the summer to help me plan! I'm so happy to have her by my side during all of this!)

That one time Breigh & I planned our entire weddings..

Friday, August 5, 2011

I spent a good chunk of Tuesday with Breigh. We just so happened to plan our weddings.
Neither of us are close to getting married.
We found venues, decided on food & desserts, found dresses, picked our wedding parties. No joke.
Here were my sources of inspiration:
Breigh and I even set a potential date for my wedding. Originally it was April 14, 2013... but then I thought, who wants to get married on the anniversary of the Titanic sinking?! What a way to celebrate Jack dying. So then we started thinking, maybe 2013 is just a bad idea in general. 2013 just doesn't sound good. But... there's a problem, 2012 is too soon. 2014 just feels..too late. So 2013 it is. I hope that future husband of mine is okay with this.
I also decided my father/daughter dance will be to "No One's Gonna Love You" by Band of Horses. I told my mom this in the frozen food section of Wal-Mart. She started crying.
Something about how my dad and I both have a crazy love for Band of Horses, and the lyrics "no one's gonna love you more than I do" really hit a soft spot for my mom.

We also decided that simplicity is best. So we both decided on having only one bridesmaid. Each other. Aren't we the cutest best friends ever?! And then I found this dress....
And Breigh fell in love. I officially want it for her bridesmaid dress. Seriously. And she loved it so much that she offered to buy it right then. Because we all know that ModCloth will not have this dress in 2013.

Here were Breigh's sources of inspiration...
As you can see she's going for a very rustic feel for her wedding, hopefully we'll find a good venue for her! She wants it in a barn, of course. We found this one, and it's absolutely gorgeous. But she feels that traveling 3 hours away is a lot to ask for such a big guest list she intends on having. Oh, I love my best friend. :)

Seriously, the guys we marry are super lucky. We have general ideas of what we want to do, and all that's really left to do is actually plan and get it ready. Oh boy. Lucky guys. :)

So what about all of you? Do you have your future wedding planned already? :)

I apologize for not having any sources for our photos! I can tell you that we found all of them on 100 Layer Cake, Once Wed, and Ruffled Blog.

Sleigh Bells + Neon Indian.

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Yesterday, Blake and I went to Kansas City to celebrate our 6 month anniversary. We had such a good day just walking around the Plaza, doing some shopping (I got the LOL Cam from UO. Totally stoked about using it), and got yummy red velvet layered cheesecake. Seriously so good. Here's a few Instagrams of our day :)
I got a much needed pedicure while I was in St. Louis after going to Florida. Blake was such a boy, and wouldn't get one. Lameo!I got this at Forever 21 yesterday. And it was so hot outside, I put it on like right after I bought it. And I have yellow nails. Neon Indian! I have never listened to them before, and I was very impressed. Not necessarily my favorite kind of music (hello, Band of Horses is my favorite band. haha) but I enjoyed it a lot. A lot a lot.Sleigh Bells. So good live. So good. I freaked out a little though. But I still enjoyed it, despite the fact that I had a headache, couldn't breathe, and had to keep my head down most of the time. But I loved it!

Ps. Have you seen this photo??
Its from the photobooth at Elsie & Jeremy's wedding. I love it so much! It's pretty much the cutest ever. Love love love.

Post-Wedding Happiness

One of the loveliest couples ever got married yesterday!I was so excited when I got my invite in the mail (it was seriously too cute), and Blake and I were so excited to dress up and be part of this special day.
I didn't bring my camera along, but I did take a few pictures on my phone, that I sent to my parents & Miss Claire throughout the afternoon. Claire, you would've absolutely died from the cuteness!!
And this is what we wore...
I am happy to announce that Blake picked both of our outfits, when he was in DC last week. The dress was so perfect, and I was so excited to wear it - until it ended up being way too cold, so I had to wear tights - but it still looked adorable. I love you, boyfriend. You can go shopping for me anytime. :)
I'll probably wear it again soon, and do a proper outfit post on it.

So, now my day is half over, and I have yet to start any of my homework to prepare for finals. I still have half of an essay to write for Children's Lit (worst class ever), and it's already over 3 pages long. BLAH. So ready for this semester to be over.

Don't forget, if you have any questions for me, ask away here or here. :)

I'm a little obsessed...

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

I think I have my entire wedding planned. Would it be silly to start making stuff for it now, even though my wedding will be like, 3 to 4 years away..? :)
I came across this photo today: and I am officially obsessed with the colors.
I am fairly positive that these are my official wedding colors.
They're just so perfect...
sigh. I'm not going to get married for a long time..
A girl can dream, right?

Urban Outfitters is officially the store of my dreams.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Urban Outfitters & Anthropologie launched a new wedding line yesterday.
I am dying a tiny bit.
Everything is SO beautiful.
I... want to get married asap.
Here are a few (or maybe all) of my favorites.. :)

Sigh. BHLDN has some of the prettiest things I've ever seen. Why am I 19 and no where near getting married? Sigh, sigh, sigh.
