Quick snapshots of the weekend.

Monday, June 11, 2012

1. The first night Claire was here. We watched Bridesmaids, went out for Pineapple Whip, and I cooked a delicious dinner of tilapia, green beans and cheesy rice. :)
2. Saturday we went to look at a wedding venue; if you follow me on Instagram, you know a lot about it already. ;) it's absolutely gorgeous, and just the perfect place all around.
3. We ate at Grad School on Saturday. Grad School has the best burgers and fries. I always get the Full Ride!
4. This is where the ceremony will take place, if we choose to get married at the wedding venue we looked at on Saturday. The lady said its the perfect place to hang mason jars and lights. She had me at mason jars.
5. Sunday after church, we went out for a sweet treat at Andy's. I'm not a big ice cream fan (although, Blake makes the argument that it's not ice cream, it's frozen custard.
6. We were greeted this morning by a storm early this morning, and the power was out in my apartment for over an hour! So we trucked on over to Gailey's for breakfast this morning: peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes. So wonderful...so full.

Claire stayed for the weekend. I hadn't seen her since January! We live about 4.5 hours apart, so we don't see each other nearly often enough. Miss you already, Claire!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Tonight.

Saturday, May 19, 2012

My night is looking a whole lot better than I thought it would.
Blake informed me that Drive is now on Instant Netflix... so can you guess what I'm watching right now?

Drive, honeymoon planning, looking at wedding inspiration and filling my notebooks full of ideas.
Tonight is good.
Have a happy weekend!

Happy Weekend!

Saturday, April 7, 2012

Happy weekend to you all! And for those that celebrate, Happy Easter! I'll be spending my weekend in my hometown with my family and friends that are home from college! I'm excited for the relaxing weekend ahead! How about you?!

So, in case you haven't noticed, I blogged every day this week! (high five, Haley!) I'm hoping to keep this up, it's so much fun! I think I found a blogging system that actually works for me. I've been scheduling posts in advance, so I don't have to actually think about it daily. It really works for me. So here's to hoping I can keep up with this!

In other news - my brother and future sis got their first tattoos today! I saw Titanic 3D at the IMAX on Wednesday with Blake. I had a doctor appointment yesterday. I like my new doctor a lot. I know this sounds bad, but she's kinda flighty... we're on the same wavelength. Haha!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and I'll see you on Monday!

xo Haley

(ps, my hair is getting long, isn't it?! Remember when i did THIS? It's finally getting close to the original length! I'm considering doing the whole ombre thing. Future Sis says no, because it's over done... but I don't know... I'm still really into the idea. It's so summery! What do you think??)

Brother + Sister Weekend

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

This past weekend, my youngest brother, Tucker, came to stay for the weekend with me! It was a nice little treat for him, since he doesn't get to spend a lot of time with his big sis, let alone, get to come to downtown Springfield all that often.
On Friday, Blake and I took Tucker, Philip & Vern (Blake's nephews) to 1984, a super cool classic arcade. Tucker had been a few times, and loved every second of it! Saturday morning, Blake picked us up and took us to breakfast at our favorite spot, Aunt Martha's Pancake House. Tucker had never eaten there before, and was amazed by the pancakes! "Wow. These are the best pancakes I've ever had. Wow." It was so cute!
Later that afternoon, we went to Ozark to eat at Lambert's, this famous restaurant where they throw rolls at you. Tucker had never eaten there, and didn't believe me. He was very surprised when a roll came at him pretty hard. ;)
We saw Hunger Games Friday night, and then got up and went to church in the morning. It was a pretty perfect weekend. I love my little bro!

How was your weekend? :)

Happy Hunger Games Day!

Friday, March 23, 2012

I know that, technically, everyone was saying yesterday was Hunger Games day, but I'm saying it's today. ;)
I'm so excited to see the movie! I haven't really shown interest/cared at all about the series, until I picked up the book a few days before my surgery. I read the first chapter, right before they put me under anesthesia. After that, I couldn't remember what I'd read, so I started it over a few days ago. I'm hooked! I'm so sad I don't have a lot of time to read, but I'm reading whenever I can.

Tomorrow, I have a hot date with my little brother, Tucker, and I'm taking him to see it, since he's a big fan of the books. I love these special little dates! But, now I'm in a mad race to finish the book before tomorrow night! Did any of you finish the book in a day or two? Give me hope, please!

I'll be back soon with a brand new room tour! But during the wait, here are a few peeks at our living room, via my roommate Anna! (isn't it the best that two bloggers live together?!)

*hello, dirty mirror*

So much for a regular blogging schedule, eh?

I am SO sorry for just disappearing! In an act of spontaneity, I dropped everything and drove to the middle of nowhere Arkansas for a mini girls weekend with Claire
I've known Claire, via our blogs, for well over a year, but we just met this past weekend! It was so exciting, and I'm glad we finally got to meet. Sadly, no *real* pictures were taken, but there are plenty on my Instagram, if you follow me (@elizabethhaley)!

Everything will be back to normal tomorrow, and I'll be back with a cute little post on my Valentine's Day favorites!  I can't believe January is already over!

Game Night.

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

game night.
game night.
In case you live under a rock, Mr. Colby Kern (my very favorite blogger) just so happens to be my best friend. Ever since school started, I haven't been able to see him as much as I'd like, but this weekend, Colby invited me and Blake over for a game night! It was absolutely perfect.
We played Clue (Colby won) and Life (I won. Blake was in debt the entire time. Ha!), and Colby's boyfriend, Blake, made us yummy grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
I think more people should have game nights like this! It is way too much fun. :)

I'll be back soon with a post about my tattoos!
:)

How was your Monday? ♥

Lately.

Friday, September 23, 2011

*my workspace.* let me tell you, nothing but a bunch of tweeting and facebooking goes on here.

So, my lack of blogging has been super depressing!
But life has been so exciting lately!

-I've been planning something, that only Blake and Breigh know about. But, I'm super excited and extremely happy. #vague
-All depending on if our application is approved (and there isn't a reason that it shouldn't), Anna and I will be moving in the next 3 or 4 weeks. EXCITING! We love our little place (it is so cozy and perfect for this time of the year), but we don't love the smokers below us, and we don't love the second hand smoke we've been breathing in for the past month. And the new place is so spacious and just all around gorgeous. So here's to hoping that everything goes smoothly and that I didn't just jinx it by blogging about it.
-I'm working on a new blogging schedule. I don't want to feel pressured to blog every single day, so I'll be taking the weekends off from blogging, but I'm going to try to keep blogging throughout the week. I'll be back soon to share what the new schedule is once I nail it all out!

I've got a hot date with Mr. Blake tonight, and then a fall festival tomorrow, and taking my Grandma to see Gone with the Wind on Sunday after church. It's a busy weekend for me! What are your weekend plans?
xo Haley

p.s. I blogged over at After Your Heart today.. check it out!

This weekend has been so eventful!
Friday, Blake and I went to Worship Night at our church, which was incredible. I invited Breigh along and we had a blast. Afterwards, Blake and I saw Don't Be Afraid of the Dark... which was slightly disappointing (except for the end, surprisingly enough). But it wasn't in the least bit scary because they left the theater lights on during the entire thing. Laaaame.
Saturday, Blake and I went shopping (had to return one of the two perfumes I got... silly me, I bought two of the same kind), and he bought me this pretty new dress! He's such a good boyfriend. Later that night his band, The Midwest Indies, had a show at The Front Porch, so that was a fun conclusion to our day.
Today we went back to Marshfield to visit my parents and see my grandma. I haven't seen them (with the exception of my dad) in nearly 3 weeks! Crazy talk!

I'm pretty excited for the coming month, though.
Blake and I have a very special date coming up soon, and then towards the end of September, grandma and I have a date to see Gone with the Wind at the Gillioz Theatre! We're mega excited because Gone with the Wind was always our favorite movie to watch on snow days while playing board games. :)

How was your weekend? Do anything exciting?

What I'm Wearing + Perfect Day

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Boyfriend and I went on a picnic today... I wore this:
Denim shirt & skirt - forever 21// shoes - steve madden
He planned the perfect picnic for us.. complete with grocery store sushi and pretty music. I like him a lot a lot a lot :)
isn't he the cutest? sigh.. :)
he also surprised me with tickets to see Sleigh Bells & Neon Indian in June! I. Am. Excited.
after that, he let me pick out a record (of course i chose Band of Horses... i don't have anything of their's on vinyl..now i do!), we went to barnes and noble for starbucks and books, and then we went to The Cup for Blake's very first time. he and i should probably go back soon.. :)
we also went to Jeremy Larson's album release show at the Gillioz theater downtown. it was such a pretty show.
so, so pretty. :)
i had a really, really good day.
like, really good day.
:)

I've been at home for nearly 3 hours and I refuse to take my coat off.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Its been a lazy day.
I'm currently working on a special something for the boy's mom. I love making things for other people. :)
Yesterday, I got off work around 12, and then tried out the new coffee shop (no bueno) and went home to take a nap/watch Inland Empire. Ever since Blake had me watch Blue Velvet, I've been on this crazy David Lynch spree, and all I want to do is watch his films. I watched Mulholland Drive a few weekends ago, and yesterday I watched Inland Empire. It was 3 hours long, and I have no clue as to what happened in those 3 hours. But I was mega creeped out:

I like his style though. I like being confused, despite the fact that I ask a ton of questions, and get really nervous. I started watching The Elephant Man, but I fell asleep/had to go back to work, so I only got to watch half-ish of it. I liked it though, so I need to finish it soon. :)

I also watched The Chumscrubber - which I liked, but it was depressing.
I'm hoping Black Swan will come to the Moxie soon, because I feel the insane need to see it.
I also h a v e to see Tron. I must confess though, Daft Punk is the one and only reason I want to see it though. :)

although,

Saturday, October 2, 2010

it is almost 10pm, I have a ton of laundry sitting on my bed, and my entire body feels like a train just ran over me, I have decided to stay up, watch the last few episodes of season 6 (last season. sad face) of Nip/Tuck, and blog.
What a smart decision.
Today has been a good day:
I had to work (another sad face), and on Saturdays it is extraordinarily boring. No one really comes in on Saturdays because we're only open 10-12, so I'm usually there by myself working on my latest craft project, or reading a book, or doing whatever else my little heart fancies.
BUT, today, my aunt who lives in St. Louis called in an order for 12 dozen cookies. She wants them decorated for breast cancer awareness month and have them delivered to my mom, grandma, uncle, aunt, and their coworkers. How sweet is she? I love her much. Anyways, I texted my boss to tell her about the order, she called me, and told me that since she's on vacation this week, I can bake/decorate all 144 cookies by myself and then deliver them! Holy wow! I'm so stoked. This is like my first "real" taste of my future career, and I couldn't be more excited. This really relieves any doubt I've ever had about my choice of career. :)
Anyways.. after that, I went to Springfield with the grandma, who bought me a new pair of shoes because she was "tired of seeing my nasty moccasins." Gotta love that woman.
I've been home for a while now, and now my pumpkin spice latte is way cold and that huge pile of clothing is still on my bed, and I'm obsessed with finishing this series so I can start on either Lost or Arrested Development (I'm not sure which to start just yet..)
I'm excited for this coming week for some reason... I don't know why. Life isn't what I expected it to be, but that's ok. I'm learning to go with the flow. I'm learning that biting my nails is not a good solution to my problems. I've also learned that next time, when I dye my hair, not to forget to put in the little green bottle of whatever that good smelling stuff is. And I'm definitely learning that next time I have a Safety & Sanitation test worth 140 points, I should probably study for it.

random updates.

Goodness me its been quite the week.
Second week of college. I skipped 2 classes. Um. I have no explanation for my actions. I just didn't want to go. However, I did not skip my math class. So kudos to me for being a (semi) good student.
Anywhooo. Here are some cellular photos from the week. :)
the first pumpkin spice of the season tastes the best. i told my little buddy jacob to try one, and he's addicted. he texted me this morning, "i took your advice and tried the pumpkin spice latte. seriously life changing" hahah gotta love converting frapp lovers into psl worshippers! i for real style took this quiz. turns out i'm the golden girl-betty white. coolest quiz ever? yeah. i bought this shirt/dress friday night at good girl art in downtown springfield. best ever. i've had my eye on it for a month or so, and so when i got paid, the first thing i did was pay my car payment, and then bought this shirt! haha.
i dyed my hair last night! super dark. and not so red, like it usually ends up when i dye it. i realized that its getting SO long, and i'm enjoying the length, so i'm kinda getting nervous about having sarah cut it on tuesday. but, all will be well in the end, i'm sure!
:)

have a lovely, lovely weekend. the weather is beautiful in good ole missouri :)
