Everyone loves Elf.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I feel sickly. Probably because I finally tried the Starbucks Via, and I hated it, and now I feel gross. I've also had Kanye West's new album on constant rotation, so I'm feeling pretty ghetto. Have I ever mentioned how awesome I am sometimes?
Anyways. Tonight, I started art journaling again, I watched Mulholland Drive (a mind trip and a half) and listened to The Knife while looking for a pair of shoes for my friend Taylor (because apparently, no ones knows vintage like Haley... not sure where he came up with this idea..)
Anyways... I guess you all are wondering who the lucky winner is..:)
numero 15, which means...
Yay! Mich! Email me (gwtwlover@msn.com) and we will come up with a fun idea for your journal! :)

Top Christmas Movies, according to you guys:
1. Elf
2. A Christmas Story
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas/ White Christmas (a tie)

A lot of these (White Christmas, 4 Christmases, Polar Express, Year w/o Santa Claus, etc) I've never seen before, so I'll definitely give them a try.
And thank you, Miss Danielle, for suggesting Groundhog Day. My dad is obsessed with that movie, and ALWAYS makes us watch it on snow days. :)

I'm gonna go watch other weird mind-bending movies now, since I'm in the mood for that sort of thing, and drink some ice tea, since I'm kind of grossed out by hot drinks right now.
Later, folks.

100th post is not as epic as i thought it would be (+something special)

*the giveaway is closed. sorry you missed it, sucka* :)

I am feeling MUCH more positive now! I think I just needed to feel like I actually accomplished something today to feel decent. So, I cleaned my room (a little) and worked for 2 straight hours on papers for my political science class. I'm about to start on the outline for my final essay in my english class, which is called "What Is a Place" and is supposed to be about a significant place in my life. I can't really think of anywhere in my life that I could write about for 4-6 pages. No where. Except New York. I've only been there once, but I think I could write pages and pages worth of crap that only has meaning to me (such as the elevator in our hotel that we took a picture in every morning). Haha, maybe that's what I'll do.
Maybe I'll share the final draft of the essay here... if 4-6 pages worth of writing doesn't bore you. :)

Random facts about my day:
*I got out of bed at 11:30, and made breakfast, got back in bed, then got out at 2:30 to make lunch.
*I figured out how to successfully keep my hair up in a bun, even though its really too short to put up at all.
*Got a "latte" at McDonald's because the closest Starbucks is 20 minutes away, and I didn't want to drive that far just for my comfort drink.
*While in the drive-thru at McDonald's, I saw a car that had 2 cats just sitting in the back window of the car. I laughed for maybe 2 minutes over that.
*I watched Glee with my brother, who was "sick" today. He was in complete awe over the Glee version of the Katy Perry song "Teenage Dream" - trust me, this kid is definitely not a Glee fan, so this must mean something.
*wrote a review on the war for my political science class, using a Conservative magazine. Most boring and depressing thing ever.
*Wrote 2 reviews for movies for the same political science class (any class where you can review V for Vendetta for a grade is pretty awesome).
*Watched a grand total of 4 Jeopardy episodes with my grandparents. Every time Grandpa answered a question right he'd lean over to me, hold his hand out, and say, "hold your applause, please." Annoying.
*I'm getting bored with how boring my day has been.

Last night was the best night ever, but I'm going to be very vague about it, because I can.
Blake made me dinner (and it was yummy), and hot tea, and we watched Amelie. It was perfect.
It would've been a bit more perfect if the Home Alone 2 VHS would've worked, but alas, Christmas movie watching will have to be saved for another night. :)

I should probably work on this stupid essay now.

p.s. this is officially my 100th post. I feel like this should be way more epic than it really is.
Hmm. I guess I can do a giveaway. You know, since I want to fit in in the blog world, or whatever :)
Leave me a comment giving me a Christmas movie suggestion, and you can win one of these lovelies, much like the one I gave away on Danielle's blog:
If you win, I'll get in contact with you and personalize a sketchbook for you, and whatnot). GOOD LUCK ♥

good morning:)

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 29: 3 wishes.
These are very silly wishes. But this is what I want riiiight now:

1. Someone to get one (or both) of these cuuuuute puppies.
2. to move to NYC asap. I watch all these silly movies that are set in the city, and I just get insanely jealous! I miss New York beyond belief. I can't wait to go back.

3. to go see Warpaint in a few weeks when they come to Missouri. But alas ... I am not. I'm going to see the new Harry Potter at midnight. :)
(the Undertow video was directed by ultimate girl crush Shannyn Sossamon, who was the original drummer of Warpaint. in love in love in love)

30 Days of Truth: Day 18. I think: views on gay marriage.
I don't really know how I feel about this topic, actually.
Based on religious belief, I shouldn't be ok with gay marriage.
My best friend is gay, so obviously I don't have a problem with gays. But gay marriage is an iffy subject for me. Because I'm just really apathetic about it. I probably should have an opinion about it.. but I don't. Ha.

Most amazing giveaway ever? Yes, I think so:
I'll probably win, just saying.
:)

xoxo Haley

Compliments, New York (again), and Biscuits.

30 Days of Truth: Day 12: Something you never get compliments on.
Is it bad that I can't think of anything? I don't mean that in a bad way. Its just the only thing I ever get compliments on is my eyes, and there's nothing else I feel should be complimented - if that makes any sense. Ha.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 23: Favorite vacation.
How many times can one person talk about New York City?? I can't say enough about this city. Really. Highlights included...
the Alice in Wonderland statue in Central Park.
Strawberry Fields, in Central Park, as well. Central Park, in general. Haha:)

Taking a text-break with my aunt while waiting on the grandma to finish reading every single informational sign at the Statue of Liberty. Although visiting the Statue was cool, it was extremely boring. I would've been just fine looking at it from land, instead of waiting 2 hours for a 15 minute ferry ride out to the island, and then another 2 hours just "looking around," and eating chili cheese fries. Boring.

The Pants Party:
Never in your life have you seen a more amazing giveaway. For real.
Look for yourself. It is awesome. Danielle reallyyy knows how to put on a good party.
Anyways... the point of blogging about this, y.o.u. can win a handmade journal by me! :) So, go to Danielle's blog, look at all the amazing prizes, tell her what you'd fill a pool up with (I would definitely choose alfredo sauce. is that weird?), check out everyone's shops/blogs, and win.
This is an EPIC giveaway.
