2011 Book List.

Sunday, December 26, 2010

As part of my goals for 2011, I made a list of books I want to read in 2011.
I didn't get to read near as often as I wanted to this year, and I think part of that was because I was in the last semester of high school/first semester of college. The transition for me was a bit odd and hard to get used to. So now that I know how to manage my time - I'm going to read more :)

*The Fountainhead – Ayn Rand

*Memoirs of a Geisha – Arthur Golden

*Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Truman Capote

*Harry Potter Series – JK Rowling (I've never read them before. Well, I read the first one. In 3rd grade.)

*Brave New World – Aldous Huxley

*The Stranger – Albert Camus

*Never Let Me Go – Kazuo Ishiguro

*Middlesex – Jeffrey Eugenides

*The Hours – Michael Cunningham

*Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood – Rebecca Wells

*The Virgin Suicides – Jeffrey Eugenides

I think I'll get a jump start on the fun and start The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood tonight. Wish me luck. I have a lot of work to do on completing this goal within a year. :)

  3. I'm ALWAYS reading and have a huge list of books I want to read!
I'll just say that The Virgin Suicides is an amazing book! I'm currently over half-way through Middlesex and it's so different. I'm finding it quite difficult to read, I'm not as engrossed in it at all, but am still reading in hopes that it will turn into the wonder that everyone is saying it is! xxx

  8. Hi there! I'm a random commenter I guess, but I'm pretty sure I came across your blog through reading Elsie Flannigan's. Reading more is on my to-do list for 2011 as well. Currently reading the Harry Potter series myself. I always loved the movies just never made time to read the books until now and I'm enjoying them so far. My goal is to read all of them before the final movie comes out! I also noticed that you want to read Brave New World. I had to read it for one of my university English courses. I found it hard to get into at first but then it blew. my. mind. Crazy fascinating. Thinking about it makes me want to reread it! Anyway, hope you have a great week!
