Today was suuuch a good day!
I hung out with my grandma all day, which I do very often, but today was especially fun - even through my bad mood (which was terrible, at first). We went to Barnes and Noble, where I picked up some books I needed for my Children's Literature class I'm taking next semester at school, and she ended up paying for them. As a poor college kid, its really nice when people pay for things! :) We had lunch with one of her friends from high school (which she graduated in 1970... so they've been friends for a looong time). She was probably the coolest woman I've ever met. We got to talking and she and I have so much in common (its good to know I relate to the old folks..haha). She wants to go on a trip to Canada with my grandma and I sometime within the next year or two, and I couldn't be more excited! She travels a lot, and she loves Rosemary Beach (in Florida) as much as I do, so we devised a plan to be business partners and start a cupcakery and record store in Seaside or Rosemary Beach. And all of this happened in a 2 hour time span. Ridiculous.
And then Grandma and I went to Target, and I bought A LOT for like, 20 bucks. I bought new pajamas (I LOVE NEW JAMMIES!!!), new floral tights, new socks (I LOVE NEW SOCKS MORE THAN JAMMIES!!!) and I bought my very first Christmas tree and ornaments to go with it! And right after I bought it, I called my mom to tell her. I felt like a grown up...up until that point. Haha. And then we got Starbucks. It was a good, good day.
And I'm finishing it off with getting cozy in my NEW jammies and watching Rock of Love & Flavor of Love. I'm so cool sometimes.
:)
Aaaand now my year in review.
Sort of.
I will not lie to you. I am
so glad that 2010 is over. It has definitely had some good moments.. but looking back on it, it was just another year. Nothing spectacular happened. BUT... I will share some of my favorites from the year...
....I wore a Snuggie to school for "Roll Out of Bed Day." Embarrassing? A little. But eh. The best senior year memories aren't always the cutest.
I got to hang out with some of theeee coolest girls on the block. I love when they come to visit (and I even got to chill with Emjay a bit more when she came to visit last month!)
At the ripe age of 18 (3 months from 19, actually), I finally got my driver's license. I used to hate driving. I practically live in my car now. Its the love of my life.. when its not acting weird.
PROM! I actually hated everything about it. Dinner. My dress. My lack of a date. The weather (it rained all night). The dance. The music. EVERYTHING. It all sucked. But this picture is absolutely perfect! It makes it look like we had a decent night!
I graduated!! Breigh and I are the only ones that ended up sticking around good old Marshfield. Cassie goes to Lindenwood University, and Alyssa goes to Truman. I miss them A LOT.
I will never ever forget Project Grad. I was awake for nearly 24 hours. INSANE. We did karaoke allll night, and got fake barcode tattoos. AND my parents were chaperones. It was the best.
Best. Graduation. Gift. Ever. Aunt Leslie took me (and momma and grandma) on a little trip to New York City (the city of my dreams) and it sparked a little love affair with the city. I m u s t live there one day. Boyfriend and I both went to NYC this year, about a month apart and have decided its our future home. I can't picture living anywhere else.
Product modeling for Miss Elsie was seriously sooo much fun. and I got a cute dress out of it. :) Lovelovelove.
Cassie, Dad, and I went to see Eclipse for our "Twilight at Midnight" tradition. 3rd year in a row. I LOVE hanging out with my Cassabee and Papa Tyson. They make my heart happy. Can't wait until next November so we can do it all over again. :)
I got my very first tattoo! It was my little 19th birthday present to myself (that I paid for with graduation money. Ha!) Such a good idea. Now I'm itching for my next one... which will hopefully be my 20th birthday present to myself. :)
Aunt Leslie treated the family to a last minute trip to Florida. We hung around Seaside, FL. which is the home to The Truman Show (one of my very favorite movies). It is the most wonderful little town in the world.
My favorite photo shoot of the year (and these were very few and far between this year. Bummer). Colby and I set up all of his lights and moved around some furniture in the guest bedroom of his house, and took some cute pin-up inspired photos. Love.
And another favorite photo shoot. This one I did with Miss Erin Sunday as a sort of spur of the moment thing. SO much fun.
ok. I promise. This is my last of the favorite photo shoots. Another one that Colby and I did, this time in Fair Grove, a location we'd never shot at before together. It was lots of fun, but very short lived. Too many bugs. :(
Ohh, Halloween. Nothing like dancing to Cher & whipping yo' back and forth with a bunch of gay dudes. I dressed up as Ke$ha, and went on a party crashing date with my best friend and his cutie boyfriend, Blake.
This year ended on a good note, and that's all I can really ask for. I can already tell that 2011 will be the beginning of many, many more wonderful years to come.
Goal List for 2011:
*give vegetarianism another go.
*move out of my parents house.
*enjoy the the last 6 months of being a teenager.
*continue the grandma night tradition and add little Savannah to the fun.
*stop. drinking. soda.
*plan the beeest birthday ever for mr. blake.
*not complain when grandpa suggests we watch Cops, Intervention, or Ice Road Truckers. (this'll be a hard one..)
I heart you all.
I hope 2010 has been good to you, and I hope that 2011 will be even better.
:)
xoxo Haley
