I Love My City: Whisler's

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

This is my favorite place to eat in Springfield, that isn't a chain restaurant. I will admit, I go to Steak & Shake way more often than I got to Whisler's, but it makes eating at Whisler's that much more special, right?!
The burgers are tiny (and greasy!) and perfect! I'm pretty sure they've started making fries and onion rings, too! They also recently added additional seating upstairs, because before that, seating consisted of two tables on the sidewalk outside, and one tall table next to the register! It is seriously a hole in the wall. It's too charming for me! Colby joined me the other day when taking these photos. He'd never eaten there before, and I think he was pleasantly surprised! I'm sure it'll be our new favorite spot to eat during out best friend outings. :)

ps if you stop by Whisler's, get the Sow & Cow. Best bacon cheeseburger around! So glad I'm not a vegetarian.

Awkward & Awesome

Thursday, March 17, 2011

awkward:
*watching colby get his nipple pierced.
*watching the girl in front of me take all of the dessert pizza at cici's right after i said that was the kind i really liked.
*driving my best friend around everywhere after nearly 3 years of him driving me everywhere.
*the current length of my hair.
*the fact that i'm 19 years old and would give anything to be married and have a family (i have problems, obviously..)

awesome:
*bought a Little Boots tshirt at hot topic for 10 bucks.
*finding out my next tattoo will only be $60. (yay!)
*the weather being warm enough to actually enjoy iced drinks at starbucks
*realizing that i'm meeting my favorite band in less than a month..
*brother's 18th birthday is tomorrow!

today was a good day
colby and i spent the day walking around downtown since the weather was so nice (but extremely windy). i'm fairly sure we went in every single shop in the area, and i'm pretty sure colby bought something at nearly all of them. haha. we support our local businesses. with the exception of the coffee shops. we're all about our black tea lemonades at starbucks. but we really did try to do today completely local. :)
we ate lunch at maria's, which is a very yummy mexican restaurant... i don't even like mexican food.
he's going to love me for that picture of him...
I definitely enjoyed my seafood fried taco...but I was SO full when we left. I haven't even eaten my cupcake from AmyCakes yet that I bought after lunch! Lame.
Yum. Yum. I want more.

I have to sleep now. I have work in the morning (aka: noon), and I'll be super cranky if I don't get 10 hours of sleep. Haha. Sad. But true.

I've been a really bad blogger these past few days. :(
I owe you guys 2 (TWO!) outfit posts! I'm not one for excuses (actually, that's a lie. I'm really bad about giving a million excuses as to why I didn't do something), but I will say this: Saturday was absolutely awful. I was on day 2 of a train wreck of a headache, and it was freezing and rainy and dreary. Gross. My sweet little boyfriend brought me Steak & Shake and watched The Virgin Suicides with me, so that made my day a lot better.
And today, I just didn't have time at all! I woke up late, and didn't make it to church on time (sad face), and then grandma and I went to Springfield for a top secret shopping trip. We came home with lots of goodies, which I cannot tell you about, and she even bought me Starbucks and a new outfit (which you will see on Sunday...) I had to work so hard for this outfit! I absolutely hate cleaning, everyone that knows me well knows this, but I told grandma that I would clean for a new outfit (HA.)... so, as soon as we got back from Springfield, I went straight to work. Who knew vacuuming was such a workout?
Anyways...
Breigh and I went out for lunch the other day, to Breigh's non-Applebee's favorite restaurant, Little Tokyo:
I am not a huge fan of Little Tokyo, but lunch was good, and so was the fortune in my fortune cookie. :)
Grandma and I listening to Beach House a lot today. I always skip Norway when I'm listening to them on my iPod, but I heard it today for the first time in forever, and I remembered how good it actually is. I really, really love this song. Like, a lot.
Alllllright. I'm off to watch Fargo (best.movie.ever) and hopefully fall asleep at a decent time..
goodnight ♥

future career.

I am a complete sucker for a cutely decorated cupcake.
I am SO glad that I work at a place where I can create cute cupcakes for people to enjoy for like 2 seconds before they eat them.
I'm so excited to pursue a career out of this. A future of cupcakes?? I'm so in.
This is so what I want to do for the rest of my life..
(i wish i would've had these around for my Alice in Wonderland birthday party last year)
(how beautiful are these... gosh.)
(Tyler's niece would sooo be into these Hello Kitty cupcakes! I would love to make them for her someday.)

I am so excited about this cupcake filled future. It's going to be exciting :)
